Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
After leaving church, it can feel as though your place with God ended too. The belief underneath is simple and quietly heavy: first you belong to a group, and then you get to belong to God. Without the group, the second part seems to fall away.
